Residential Break & Enter Prevention Tip

Windsor Police are reminding residents with garage door openers to keep them out of your vehicles when not in use.  A garage door opener in a vehicle parked on a driveway gives thieves easy access to your home through the garage.  Residents should always keep the pedestrian door the house (from the garage) locked with a deadbolt.

▪  Take the remote with you when you leave your car
▪  Always lock your interior entry garage door with a deadbolt.
▪  If you plan on going away on vacation - disable your garage door so it cannot be opened electronically.
▪  If your car has been broken into - check to see if the opener is missing.

Always report any suspicious persons or activity to the Windsor Police.

Windsor Entrepreneur on Dragon's Den

Jason Carruthers  hopes second time's a charm when he appears on CBC TV's Dragon's Den  tonight.
In 2006 Carruthers failed to convince the dragons to invest in his idea for an eyewear store for women but has been invited back with another concept called Zipp Lash which he began in 2008.  This is the application of false eyelashes made of fibre material using glue which come is two densities, the single lash or the double flair.   Carruthers now operates two locations of Zipp Lash.  The first one in Windsor and a second location which he recently opened in Tecumseh.

Dragon's Den airs on CBC Windsor, Channel 9, tonight at 8 p.m.
