Residential Break & Enter Prevention Tip

Windsor Police are reminding residents with garage door openers to keep them out of your vehicles when not in use.  A garage door opener in a vehicle parked on a driveway gives thieves easy access to your home through the garage.  Residents should always keep the pedestrian door the house (from the garage) locked with a deadbolt.

▪  Take the remote with you when you leave your car
▪  Always lock your interior entry garage door with a deadbolt.
▪  If you plan on going away on vacation - disable your garage door so it cannot be opened electronically.
▪  If your car has been broken into - check to see if the opener is missing.

Always report any suspicious persons or activity to the Windsor Police.
