Windsor RV, home and boat show to be held in warehouse
Decorator Samantha Pynn, of HGTV's Summer Home, will be among the experts speaking at a home, garden, boat and RV show in Windsor on April 5-7, says the organizer.

An industrial warehouse on Windsor’s far west side is being transformed for a combined home, garden, boat and RV show planned for April 5 to 7.

The Hearn and Sons warehouse, at 635 Sprucewood Dr, covers more than 150,000 square feet and will be the site of the largest show of its kind ever staged in Windsor, according to organizer Stuart Galloway of 20/20 Show Productions.

“We’ve done individual shows before but this is the first time we’ve combined them all under one roof,” said Galloway, who has worked in show production for more than 20 years.
In the past, shows have been staged at the University of Windsor’s St. Denis Centre and the Windsor Expo Centre on Walker Road.

“Those were great venues but neither had the amount of space we needed for one huge show of this nature,” said Galloway. “We’re got roughly triple the space we had in past years.”
The combined show will include home and garden products, sports boats, pleasure craft, motorcycles, ATVs, campers, personal watercraft, hunting, fishing, cycling and scuba gear. There will also be appearances by Sarah Richardson, of Sarah 101, and decorator Samantha Pynn and contractor Colin Hunter, of Summer Home. Both programs are broadcast on HGTV.

Richardson is scheduled to appear on the show’s second day at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. while Payne and Hunter are scheduled to appear the following day at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Galloway expects more than 300 vendors and companies will participate in the show. There will also be three vendors offering a variety of foods and refreshments.

Last week, city council approved a zoning change allowing for the site to be used as a temporary exhibition hall on the show weekend only.
“If it’s successful and we decide to do it again, we would have to apply for either another temporary zoning change or a permanent change allowing this to be an annual event,” said Galloway.

The show runs from 2 to 7 p.m. on the first day, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the second day and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the final day.
Admission is $7 for all three shows with children under the age of 16 admitted free.
