Please help a great cause- upcoming events raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis Canada‏


Good Morning,
Since moving to Windsor, I have become a board member for the Essex-Kent Chapter of Cystic Fibrosis Canada and am the event chair for the Great Strides walk.   
Cystic fibrosis is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. There is no cure. Cystic Fibrosis is a multi-system disease, primarily affecting the lungs and digestive system. 
Cystic Fibrosis Canada raises funds to help find a cure and to help support people living with cystic fibrosis.  
Please consider helping out and supporting the upcoming events.  I have attached posters which you use to help spread the work.
Friday May 3rd is Crazy Sock Day.  
It's time to pull up your socks and raise a few bucks (and some eyebrows)
 Every year community members across Canada lace up their shoes and walk the Great Strides™ Walk for Cystic Fibrosis Canada supporting people in their community and their families affected by Cystic Fibrosis. 

 To help support Cystic Fibrosis Canada- Essex Kent Chapter we are asking you to join in and help raise funds to support the Great Strides Campaign.   We have designated Friday May 3rd as  Crazy Sock Day for a cure.Get your office, team or group involved.  Have everyone wear some bright, colourful crazy socks Express yourself &  "Wear a Pair" on  Friday May 3rd and donate $2 to Cystic Fibrosis.  Help to find a cure.   So decorate your paws for a terrific cause.
Saturday May 4th is a Pancake fundraising breakfast at AppleBees on Walker Road- come out for breakfast and support the Great Strides Walk.
May 26th is the Great Strides Walk- come on out and Walk to support Cystic Fibrosis Canada

Bikes & Beers Cycling Tours


Cycle through Windsor sampling beers at local restaurants on the Bikes & Beers Cycling Tour. Hosted by WindsorEats, participants will be visiting at least 3 establishments in Windsor, Ontario.
Participants are to provide their own bikes. Helmets are mandatory. Guests are encouraged to bring locks to secure bikes when we enter establishments. Single and tandem bike rentals are available.
Join us as we cycle our way through the city, stop at local restaurants and sample some suds.
Tickets are $60 each. Tickets are limited and will sell quickly.
Once you purchase tickets, an email with additional information will be sent to you. The ride will start promptly at 1:30pm and we are asking everyone to meet at the starting point at 1:15pm. Final arrival to the original start point is approximately 5:45pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
When the tour ends at the final restaurant, participants can either stay and enjoy some more brews and food or follow our lead back to the starting point.
Routes, establishments and beers are subject to change.
Ride dates are:
  • May 25, 2013  Bikes & Beers Cycling Tour in support of Returns for Leukemia! Proceeds from the tour benefit Returns for Leukemia, a fundraiser held each May by United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 12R24 in partnership with The Beer Store to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).  Tickets are $45 each with proceeds going to Returns for Leukemia. ASI 5th Annual Pasta Dinner

ASI will be hosting the 5th Annual Pasta Dinner fundraising event on Friday, April 19th at the Fogolar Furlan Club, 1800 North Service Road, in Windsor. Doors will open at 6pm and dinner will be served at 6:30pm. Ticket prices are $20 for Adults, $10 for Children 12 and under, and free for Children 3 and under. 

This is their biggest fundraising event of the year. To make it a success they need donations of raffle prizes and auction items. They are also looking for corporate table sponsorships. If you would like to make a donation or inquire about a sponsorship please contact their office at 519-966-7283 or email them. 

They also need volunteers to help plan and organize, provide desserts and help out the night of the event. If you can assist them please email Michelle. 

Tickets are now available at the ASI office. 
Please call 519-966-7283 or email to arrange for tickets. One hundred percent of all proceeds will directly benefit children with autism who attend the Bruce Awad Summer Program.
